KONAMI AND KOJIMA ARE PULLING A FAST ONE ON US

Hideo Kojima is an insanity magnet. Maybe because the man is slightly insane himself. But he brings out the weirdest sides of his fans into the spotlight, prompting, even encouraging theories that go beyond the realm of mental health and simple logic. The best (or worst) of these – not that Kojima ever encouraged this one in particular (quite the opposite, in fact) – has to be the one that says that Kojima never really left Konami, and that everything that has gone down between the two parties over the last few years has all been a major ruse, that it’s all part of an elaborate, mind-bending publicity stunt to reveal Metal Gear Solid 6 or the next Silent Hill or something along those lines.

But what about everything that’s happened in the last three years or so? Well, none of that matters. Konami’s PR nightmare? Nah. The dozens upon dozens of legal complications and ramifications? Nope. All the negative press that’s been generated? No. Apparently none of those are important as far as this theory is concerned. No, actually, they’re all part of the plan. First of all, no. Second of all, why?
