Forza is easily one of Microsoft’s biggest franchises, right alongside Halo, and just like Halo, it, too, got off to a strong start on the original Xbox. It was the first game in a long time to really be able to compete against Gran Turismo, which was the king of the racing sim genre at the time. Forza Motorsport won over fans thanks to its authentic racing simulation and healthy selection of content, and clearly people responded to it, because it went on to spawn a massively successful franchise.
