Sandwiched between megatons like the aforementioned KOTOR and Mass Effect, BioWare also released Jade Empire, which remains one of the most criminally underrated games of that console generation. Set in a fascinating and richly detailed world with an engaging narrative and morality-focused player choices, Jade Empire felt very different from the kind of games one usually associates with BioWare. But it stood out in the best way possible, and it’s an absolute shame that it wasn’t played by more people.
