Half-Life 2
In 1998, Valve Corporation revolutionized the first-person shooter in ways few believed were possible. In 2004, it did it again with Half-Life 2. Following up on the original’s brilliant campaign is a tall order. However, the sequel did it all, offering vehicles, large maps, zombies, a deep story, memorable characters, fantastic set pieces, and psychological horror. It made enormous pathways in physics, facial animation, lighting, and enemy AI and gave us some of the most memorable moments in gaming, from Ravenholm to the Gravity Gun. A true classic in every way, and with the 20th Anniversary Edition now available, there’s never been a better time to experience greatness.
