The very first QTE event had many gamers in awe but the feature has been mercilessly beaten to death since then. Every single game these days has a QTE – it’s gotten so bad, that even games with a single instance of the same come under fire, like the upcoming Thief. Nonetheless, games like Ryse: Son of Rome heavily rely on these and it’s ridiculous to assume that franchises like Sleeping Dogs, Tomb Raider and more won’t utilize it in some fashion. So whether we like it or not, QTEs are here to stay and just in time for the new generation.
