Eric Pangilinan the Art Director for The Last of Us has stated during Sony’s PlayStation pre-E3 event in Santa Monica that he isn’t worried about The Last of Us getting lost in the hype currently surrounding next-generation platforms, particularly the PlayStation 4.
“Naughty Dog has always released really good quality products regardless of what platform it’s on. I think the PS3 still has a lot of life in it. We’ve managed to show this with uncharted stuff, and then The Last of Us looks beautiful,” said Pangilinan in an interview with Canada.com.
Pangilian also stated that if the PlayStation 4 didn’t exist, Naughty Dog would try their best to get even more impressive graphics by developing more titles on the PlayStation 3.
Meanwhile, Eric Pangilinan has said he actually didn’t had the time to look at what’s going on with PlayStation 4 or anything that’s related with the next-gen platform.
“Honestly, I have been focused so much on this game. I mean we just finished this (laughs). This is all I’ve lived and breathed, so I’d be lying if I said anything about it,” said Pangilinan.
It seems like Naughy Dog is quite confident that The Last of Us will not be missed or overshadowed by next-gen hype. It’s also safe to assume that The Last of Us sequels will be in the works soon for PlayStation 4 after a recent discovery of Sony registered The Last of Us 2 and The Last of Us 3 website domains.
Were also very excited and hoping that they do have something to show for PlayStation 4 at Sony’s E3 Press Conference on June 10th. Remember, Naughty Dog has two separate teams, one for The Last of Us and another for something else.
