Images and details from DICE’s Battlefield 4 were leaked earlier today, showcasing an Alpha stage of the game’s development, particularly the multiplayer mode. Nonetheless, several details can be gleaned from the leak, including the return of some weapons, tanks and more.

It seems that Battefield 4 will focus more on urban areas, as evidenced by elevators that you can operate to reach the top of skyscrapers. Conquest sees a return, and there will be map in Shanghai itself called “Siege”, which even has water access. Map size is fairly small but the number of skyscrapers makes up for it.

Players have an AA at spawn, along with two armoured vehicles and two tanks (including the return of the Abrams). The Buffalo MRAP is the new vehicle this time around. Any time you step into a vehicle, the HUD changes to green, and one can utilize vehicle gadgets with the D-Pad. Said vehicle gadgets include HE (High explosive) Shells, IRNV optics, Zuni rocket pods, guided missiles, anti-air missiles and burst shells.

The flashlight makes a return – for better or worse, and you’ll be seeing some highly detailed glass shatters during the experience. Vaulting is fixed this time around, and an indication of SAM missiles is also seen.

The four classes that were noticed include Assault, Engineer, Recon and Support, each with their own offense and defense skills, weapon stats and more. Weapons that will be in the game include the Scout Elite and SV-98 sniper rifles, U-100 MK5 Light Machine gun, M9 Handgun, CZ-3A1 sub-machine gun, QSZ-02 handgun, Type 88 LMG and the QBU-88 sniper rifle.

Targeting scopes were pretty prevalent, with the Red Dot Sight, ACOG Sight, Variable Zoom Scope [14x] and CL 6X Scope [6X] all inferred. Battlepacks make a return and unlock according to rank.

The server browser appears to be the same as for Battlefield 3 in terms of functionality. This include an in-game gamer card that showing stats, platoons, and more. Dogtags, ribbons, medals and assignments also make a return.

Battlefield 4’s multiplayer will be showcased at EA’s official E3 2013 press conference.
