In a recent interview with 3D Juegos, Rockstar Games direct Leslie Benzies had more details to share about GTA V’s online component, namely Grand Theft Online.
He revealed that the camera will be able to zoom out and pain to your character seamlessly, during which the matchmaking process will be initiated. You can either play with friends or with players who have a similar rank as you.
Along with the 700 missions that Rockstar is targeting, GTA Online will allow just about anything from the single player campaign to be accessed. Each mission has a rank requirement that will determine whether you have the skills to complete it. Missions will be in a random order when you online.
Certain heists will require certain weapons, vehicles and characters with descriptions for each player on what their function will be. You’ll also need fairly good communication for complex missions. You will also have “team lives”, so if everyone dies and team lives are for the same number of team-mates, the mission will be over.
You can also adjust the weather, time of day and time, and even the radio station tuned at start of a race in the Content Creator. You can also watch races and deathmatches from your apartment, and use masks to hide from cops. GTA Online will be running on Social Club servers, with data stored on the cloud and data centers in New York, San Diego and other Rockstar Studios. Certainly plenty to look forward to on September 17th, no?
