Microsoft announced as far back as E3 2013 that it would be releasing its Xbox One console in November. But despite Gamescom in Cologne that saw Sony specify just when the PlayStation would be releasing, Microsoft is still yet to state when the Xbox One will be arriving.

EA COO Peter Moore for one is eager to know just when it will be launching, especially since this marks the first time that competing consoles have released so close together. Speaking to Games Industry International, Moore stated that, “It has never happened this way. There’s always been a period of time, a sorbet between consoles, that has cleansed the palate and allowed us to move on. It might be a week, who knows? Microsoft needs to cough up the date.”

While the PS4 is confirmed for November 15th in the United States and November 29th in Europe, the Xbox One has seen several rumoured release dates such as November 8th, November 22nd and November 27th – all from different sources. Will it be ballsy and just release it on the same day as the PS4? That would be one battle for the ages.
