DrinkBox Studios has been behind a few light-hearted indie titles like Mutant Blobs Attack and the side-scrolling Guacamelee! but their latest project Severed looks to dispel all happy-go-lucky themes when it releases in Spring 2015. Severed is a first person dungeon crawler which sees you playing as a female warrior looking to make sense of past and future events.
It takes place in a non-linear world where natural motion mechanics can be used to defeat enemies. You’ll have enough freedom to choose your own upgrades and abilities, which consist of offensive and defensive techniques, and there are more than enough spells and items for aiding your character. Check out the initial trailer above to see just how the game will work.
Severed will also feature a soundtrack by Yamantaka // Sonic Titan along with kulintang ensemble Pantayo. It’s certainly one of the more unorthodox gameplay experiences we’ve ever seen. What are your thoughts? Let us know below.
