Xbox One Without Kinect

Microsoft’s Xbox One is now available sans Kinect and is retailing for $399.99/£349.99 for both US and UK gamers respectively via the Microsoft Store.

The Xbox One faced a fair share of controversy last year following the always on Kinect functionality. Prior to the console’s launch in November 2013, Microsoft toned down the requirements for Kinect and finally revealed that you could pick up a console without Kinect altogether. Contrary to opinions that this will push the motion camera to the periphery, Microsoft has announced that it will continue its focus on Kinect and that the camera will retail separately this Autumn. Pricing is still to be decided but it’s still very much a factor, especially with Kinect for Windows v2 now available for pre-order.

Will you be picking up an Xbox One now that it retails for the same as the PlayStation 4? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below and stay tuned for more E3 news.
