A little while ago, earlier this month, we brought you news regarding the 2.50 update to the PlayStation 4’s system software. We can now confirm that this update to software version 2.50, which was working under the name Yukimura, will be available for download tomorrow and it’s bringing a host of new features to make the PS4 experience that little bit better.

The often reported on Suspend and Resume feature is of course included in the package and lets you quickly restore your gameplay session from where you left off. It’s recently been shown to restore Bloodborne in around 11 seconds, despite the games 40 second-ish load times. You can now back up and restore your HDD, including your dearly beloved save files and screenshots, to a USB storage device. There has also been a new set of social tools added to the system that enhances Facebook friend finding, friend requests and a greatly improved and streamlined party process.

The trophy hunters amongst us will have new features that will allow for automatic screenshotting of trophy unlocks, the share button will let you share your recent trophy pops, you can now sort you trophies by the date they were unlocked and you can even delete 0% trophies to remove that mark of shame.

You can now finally rebind the button assignment of your wireless Dualshock 4, text to speech implementation is now in place for a number of systems. Enlarged text, bolder fonts and a high contrast UI are now all available in all system apps (but not third party apps or games). Remote play and share play will now support 60fps games, the automatic installation of software updates and more also roll out in this package. It’s a good day to be a PS4 gamer.
