Metal Gear Online, the online component of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, promises to actually be a worthwhile addition to the main single player game for a change (previous attempts at having an online mode in Metal Gear games have been met with varying degrees of failure).
If you were curious about the various aspects of the game, the developers recently decided to answer a fair few questions that fans posed at them via the official Metal Gear Online account.
When a fan asked if Raiden would be a playable character, they said, “You can play as Snake and Ocelot at least, we’re looking to add more. Someone suggested an animated fiddle…” They also confirmed that bullet drop, and all other gameplay systems and mechanics, would be balanced specifically for Metal Gear Online, separately of how they work in the single player game.
“There is bullet drop, but all the systems for MGO are balanced for multiplayer so you can expect some changes [from the single player],” they observed.
Finally, they also confirmed that the game does have some form of a progression system, though they also declined to share any more details as of right now. “The game has a progression system, but we’ll discuss the details at a later date.”
Metal Gear Online will be available alongside Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain when it launches later this year. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for more coverage and information.
