You Can Watch Sony’s E3 Press Conference In Theaters Again This Year

As long as you are in the US or Canada, that is.

E3 was interesting last year, with each company trying multiple ways to democratize the biggest gaming related event of the calendar year. Where Nintendo decided to ensure everyone was included by having a continuous series of streams, so that E3, instead of being confined to one keynote, went on for five days straight, Sony decided to go for spectacle, allowing people around the United States and Canada to catch E3 being broadcast in movie theaters.

This year, Sony will be doing that again- the PlayStation E3 Experience will be available to watch in cinemas across the US and Canada. Due to the sheer demand that the event saw last year, Sony has confirmed that it will be partnering with more theaters this year, to ensure that more fans can be accommodated, and it also confirmed that the entire thing will still be free.

“Members of the PlayStation community will get to see the full PlayStation E3 press conference in HD on the big screen, plus there are special bonuses for those who come out to the theater experience,” said famed games journalist Geoff Keighley (who was also behind the spectacle of The Game Awards last December), who will beproducing the show for Sony.

“I’ll be hosting an exclusive 30-minute in-theater post show with extended footage and interviews with developers, and everyone who attends will take home a PlayStation surprise, which will consist of PlayStation goods and digital codes we can’t disclose yet. (Last year attendees received early access to the Destiny Alpha and Battlefield: Hardline beta, along with a great poster and VIP laminate).”

Is this enough for you to want to leave the comfort of your home and trudge to the nearest theater that will be showing the conference, to catch it with the rest of the PlayStation community? Let us know in the comments.
