Blizzard Entertainment’s Overwatch has recently had its closed beta which allowed players a chance at trying out the various characters and maps. However, the developer noted the use of a progression system sometime in the future. Said system has been decided it seems and director Jeff Kaplan talks about in a new video.

Two systems were decided upon but they didn’t quite work out. While the first was meant for playing the game and unlocking character abilities, it seemed to confuse players. The second system was more of a cosmetic progression system but it seems that we’ll only find out when the closed beta returns in January 2016.

What are your thoughts on a progression system for Overwatch? It will be out in Q1/Q2 2016 for PS4, Xbox One and PS4 but will you be picking it up? Let us know in the comments and stay tuned for more information in the coming month.
