Tom Clancy's The Division

En route to the release of Tom Clancy’s The Division, Ubisoft outlined its content plans for year one including free updates, expansions and more. Speaking to GameSpot, Ubisoft Massive creative director Magnus Jansen provided even more information on the Incursion activity.

Though it’s not quite a traditional six person Destiny raid, an Incursion will be fairly challenging for players. “An Incursion is a PvE end-game activity for a group of four players at max level. Incursions require preparation and coordination as they are extremely challenging. The first Incursion will be available in the first free update. More Incursions are in development, but it is too soon to talk about these without spoiling them.”

Jansen also talked a bit about the upcoming expansions but one interesting detail arose regarding the Survival expansion. Though it was stated before to be centered in some way on the Dark Zone, did its name imply a Horde mode of sorts? According to Jansen, “I really don’t want to give anything away about Survival, but I can safely answer ‘no’ to this one without spoiling too much.”

Finally, with its DLC, Ubisoft Massive is looking to provide new experiences as opposed to similar content. “We’ve decided to be ambitious with the innovation in the DLC expansions. At the heart of each one is a completely new experience; we’re not primarily adding a little bit ‘more of the same’ of what’s available at launch. We want to build on the experience that’s within the game.”

The Division is out on March 8th for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
