A new update has been released for the PlayStation 3 as of today. Yes, you read that right – the previous generation Sony console. Update 4.81 requires 200 MB minimum on your hard disk drive or removable storage media.
What does it do? According to the (now removed) release notes, “This system software update improves the quality of the system performance.”
Which is pretty vague but the PlayStation 4 receives updates like this all the time that apparently improve “stability”. As of now, users on forums like NeoGAF haven’t reported any major changes. At this point, major changes shouldn’t really be expected for the PS3 but it’s good to see Sony still supporting the console all the same.
