Rapid console refreshes don't hurt customer sentiment, he believes.

15 Ways to Enhance Your Experience on PS4 and Xbox One

According to the CEO of Take Two, the publisher of the GTA franchise among many other things, the rapid console refresh cycles that have led to the PS4 Pro and the Xbox One S, as well as the upcoming Xbox One Scorpio, are good for the industry, generating new business.

Speaking at the Credit Suisse 2016 Annual Technology Conference in Phoenix, Arizona, Take-Two Interactive Software President Karl Slatoff discussed his sentiment on the new machines (via DualShockers). “Any time there is new hardware that’s good hardware, and I think all the hardware in the market is actually good and is beneficial for the consumer, and it’s different enough that I think it’s a compelling value proposition for the consumers, that typically is a good thing,” he said. “It typically isn’t that it sucks dollars out of people’s wallets, it really usually has the opposite effect. People get new hardware, and then they wanna go buy stuff for it. That may not happen before Christmas, but it certainly happens in the first quarter. So either way, I think new hardware in the system with compelling value proposition, which I think the hardware is, is a good thing for our business.”

We have seen this with Xbox One S and PS4 Pro both buoying console sales this year worldwide- hopefully, the launches of the Switch and the Scorpio next year can continue that trend.
