Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy PlayStation 4 Exclusivity Confirmed By PlayStation Ireland

Insane in the membrane.

One of the important things to remember is that the upcoming Crash bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy, the remastered collection of the original PlayStation exclusive Crash Bandicoot platforming series, has so far been announced only for the PlayStation 4. But in spite of Crash‘s heavy association with the PlayStation brand – the original games were exclusive to the original PlayStation, they were developed by Naughty Dog, who later on became a Sony first party studio, and the games were featured prominently by Sony in their marketing for their first console – this collection is being published by Activision, who now holds rights to the franchise.

This is important, because as a third party studio, Activision is fully within its rights to publish Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy to other platforms, should it see it fit to do so. Indeed, Crash N.Sane has so far never been explicitly confirmed as a PS4 exclusive, and the other bit of Crash content that was announced alongside it, special content in Skylanders, eventually came to Wii U and Xbox One too.

So you can see why there was confusion regarding the N.Sane Trilogy‘s status. However, that confusion can now be put to rest. Speaking on Twitter, PlayStation Ireland has explicitly and in no uncertain terms confirmed that Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy will be available only on PS4. It is a PS4 exclusive. So if you want a blast from the past with some 1990s platforming, you better have a PS4 on hand.

Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy launches on the PS4 in June.
