Overwatch Double XP Weekend Announced For June 8th to 12th

Applies to nearly every form of XP gain.

Even with Blizzard’s stance on Overwatch’s Dance emotes being tied to the Anniversary Event, it’s giving players an opportunity to earn more cosmetics over the weekend.

Double XP will be active in the game from June 8th, 5 PM PT to June 12th, 11:59 PM PT on all platforms. This means that you’ll need less XP for leveling up which should lead to more Loot Boxes.

The XP bonus will also stack with group bonuses and applies to time spent in matches, match completions, consecutive match completions, backfilling, victories and medals. It won’t apply to the First Win of the Day bonus which is 1500 XP.

The end of the double XP weekend will correspond with the Anniversary Event’s conclusion so you won’t have to worry about lost time. You still need to spend an inordinate amount of time to get every single cosmetic in the Anniversary Event but at least the grind is made a little easier.
