Cliff Bleszinski Finds The Name Xbox One X ‘Weird’, Not Ruling Out An Xbox One Version of Lawbreakers Yet

Cliffy B holds nothing back.

Cliff Bleszinski, formerly of Epic Games and known for creating the popular Gears of War franchise, has spoken some rather ïnteresting”words for the Xbox fanbase, while also expressing doubts about the Xbox One X- more specifically, about it’s name. This happened while Bleszinski was speaking about his upcoming game LawBreakers in an interview with Geoff Keighley.

Lawbreakers is scheduled for a launch on PC and PS4, and Bleszinski says the Xbox fanbase has not take kindly to that fact. “Those Xbox fanboys are pretty salty,” he said. “I believe the line on my Twitter feed was ‘you’re biting the hand that feeds you, of the people that made you with Gears of War.’ And the thing I wanna say to them is, I’m not ruling out Xbox. I have a studio of 65 people, and they can only do so much and work so hard. We made a business decision looking at the install base of both consoles, and PlayStation made more sense initially.”

“I’m not ruling out an Xbox version,” he re-iterated. “Maybe there’ll be a Scorpio version later with all sorts of bells and whistles and cool things. And maybe by that time rolls 10 and 11 will be available and it will be even better, and then you can play LawBreakers on anything. Maybe one day the Switch, who knows?”

Bleszinski was then asked about how Phil Spencer reacted to the news that LawBreakers won’t be on the Xbox One, to which he said, “Dude, whenever I see Phil, we hug. He and I go way back.” A few seconds later, he proceeded to emphasise the “saltiness” of the Xbox fanbase, calling them “very, very salty.” He did, however, go on to say that he appreciated their passion. “It’s passion,” he said. “I would rather have them yelling at me and calling me names than ignoring it. I’d rather have that over indifference any day of the week.”

Later on in the interview, Bleszinski gave his two cents on the Xbox One X reveal, while talking about he wasn’t a big fan of the name. “I was too busy with doing interviews and dealing with everything, so I haven’t paid attention to any news at all,” he said when asked about what he thought of the reveal. “But I saw the name, and I was like, ‘wait, what? That’s kinda weird.'”

Yeah, he really held nothing back, but you’ve gotta appreciate the honesty. You don’t often hear developers speaking this way. You can watch the interview through the link provided above. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for more updates.
