If you know anything about the professional gaming scene, you’ll probably know about Blizzard Entertainment’s Overwatch. The title exploded with enthusiasm on to the scene but lacked a number of essential features, including a competent Spectator Mode. It also didn’t help that despite some improvements from Blizzard’s end, it’s still difficult to keep track of the action.
Much of this has to do with the team colours. For many spectators, it’s odd to see one team marked as red in one match and then blue in the next match. Thankfully, director Jeff Kaplan and his team seem to be aware of this issue and are working on improvements.
“We’re working on a better team colouring system right now. We’ve put significant efforts against this issue. We agree, it’s a top issue and there are a lot of areas for improvement. Our results and progress has been really good and I have faith the team will deliver something that raises the quality of the experience significantly,” said Kaplan on the official forums.
Wile a date for these changes hasn’t been provided, it would make sense for them to go live before the Overwatch World Cup at Blizzcon or even before the Overwatch League properly begins.
In other Overwatch news though, Summer Games will be returning as an event today with new skins, competitive Lucio Ball (with placement matches) and much more.
