Microsoft will be hosting its official Gamescom show in a few hours with details on pre-orders for the Xbox One X to be revealed. It’s expected that the Xbox One X: Project Scorpio Edition aka the Day One Edition for the console will be announced as well. For those looking to potentially trade in their current Xbox One for an Xbox One X, GameStop may have something for you.
On the US retailer’s official site, GameStop asked visitors to tune into Microsoft’s official live stream for the Xbox One and also noted that, “Exclusive GameStop Trade offer announcements to follow.”
This could mean that consumers will be able to swap their Xbox One and purchase the Xbox One X at a discount. Such a program was available last year when the Xbox One S was available and actually extended to other consoles.
For instance, trading in a PS4 would net you $200 in credit while the Xbox One could provide $150 in credit and the Nintendo 3DS XL or Wii U would provide $100 in credit. We’ll see if the same trend presents itself after Microsoft’s Gamescom conference.
The Xbox One X is otherwise releasing on November 7th worldwide and will cost $499.
