These screenshots show off the game’s impressive visuals.

If you haven’t yet seen The Last of Us Part II’s trailer which was revealed only recently at Paris Games Week, you can check it out here. However, be forewarned that the trailer features some intensely violent scenes and was a point of controversy among many.

Now Sony has shared screenshots of footage that was shown in the trailer. You can seen on the bottom right of the images that it says “captured on a PS4 Pro system.” This means that the footage wasn’t simply pre-rendered.

Confirming the same, Neil Druckmann stated on the official PlayStation blog about the trailer, “After nearly a year since our announcement that we’re working on The Last of Us Part II, we’re finally ready to reveal a bit more of the game. Above is an all-new in-game cutscene on the latest iteration of the Naughty Dog engine, running on a PlayStation 4 Pro. Enjoy!” Naughty Dog has garnered a reputation for their top-notch visuals and presentation, and it seems that they have outdone themselves again with the new engine.

The Last Of Us Part II is a sequel to the highly acclaimed original game from 2013, and will see players continue exploring the game’s world through Ellie’s eyes. Hopefully, there’ll also be short sections this time around where players can play as Joel but this is unconfirmed as of now.

It will be a while before the game is set to release, but as of now Naughty Dog seems to be bringing their best to this sequel.
