With the latest trailer for SIE Santa Monica’s God of War recently dropping and announcing the release date for April, fans have been both enthused and worried. While there’s been plenty of anticipation for the story, a number of viewers believe the graphics to have been downgraded from the initial E3 2016 reveal trailer.
Addressing these concerns, principal artist Raf Grassetti said on Twitter that the only thing that had changed is the “direction of light and fog”. He notes that the content is the same as the E3 trailer but with “different context” which will be understood when one actually plays the game. Grassetti notes at the end that he’s “laughing seeing the comments”.
It’s important to note that regardless of whether the game is downgraded or not, God of War still looks pretty incredible for a 2017 PS4 game. Ultimately it’ll boil down to the gameplay and whether it can deliver a compelling action adventure experience for over 25 hours (as the developer promised).
God of War releases exclusively for the PS4 on April 20th. What are your thoughts on the trailer? Let us know in the comments.
