It’s evident that Sony Santa Monica put a lot of effort into making God of War into the huge success that it is now. In fact, the team worked for about five year on this game so it’s great to see that their efforts didn’t go in vain. In a new video shared by the game’s director Cory Balrog, we get to see the director react to the spectacular scores which the game has received.

It’s clear that this is a game that the director cares about very deeply, as he cries tears of joy upon seeing the fantastic review scores for the game. In a short description posted with the video, Cory Balrog explains why he decided to post the video, “So, I thought a lot about whether or not to upload but then I thought of what my son, Helo, is going through right now. He doesn’t want us to be around when he is sad, opting to run in another room and yell at us if we try to come in. It has been important to us to let him know that it is OK to be sad, it is OK to cry. There is nothing to hide. I thought I would try to set a good example and show him that papa can cry in front of the world, or at least the 50 people who end up watching this. 🙂

This is for you, Helo. Papa loves you. “

The video is also a great reminder of how much effort developers put into making a game, and how passionate they are about making video games. He ends the video saying “Sometimes a crazy idea can make something special.” You can check out the entire video below.
