The multiplayer beta for Treyarch’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 isn’t live yet, but it’s expected soon. The beta is currently available for pre-load on the PlayStation Store for those who pre-ordered the game on the same platform. Keep in mind that those who pre-ordered a physical copy will need to actually wait for codes to be dispatched.
What’s in the multiplayer beta? While the battle royale mode, called Blackout, will not be part of the beta, since it will have its own beta test in September, there’s going to be plenty of stuff here to keep you sated. Treyarch revealed that two new multiplayer maps would be available – Hacienda, which takes place in a Spanish crime lord’s home; and Gridlock, taking place in Japan following a robbery. The beta will also include a 6v6 version of Team Deathmatch, where multiple Specialists can be playable on the same team.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s multiplayer beta will be available for PS4 first, with Xbox One and PC players receiving beta access next weekend. The PS4 beta will go live on August 3rd at 10 AM PT, while the full game releases on October 12th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
