Pokemon GO Players Will Be Able To Catch Johto Legendary Celebi Starting August 20th

By completing certain Special Research Tasks, players will eventually encounter this mythical Pokemon.

Ahead of the Pokemon GO fest, a dataminer had found out information regarding some of the Pokemon that would be added to the game in the near future, and this list included legendary Johto Pokemon Celebi, first featured in Pokemon Gold/Silver. Players had a chance to get a hold of the Pokemon during the fest, but if you missed a chance, don’t worry, because it has just been announced that you will have your chance to catch Celebi in the game itself starting from August 20.

From August 20 onwards, upon completing enough research tasks, players will eventually encounter Celebi in the game. If you were one of the players who attended the Pokemon GO fest and received a Celebi already, you will be able to earn Candy by completing these research tasks which can then be used to level up your Celebi.

Furthermore, there will also be some other Pokemon from the Johto region, other than Celebi of course, and “field Research highlighting these Pokemon will be available for a limited time.” Additionally, if you have made enough progress on your Johto medal, you’ll also be able to purchase new outfits and avatar items from the in-game shop.

So yeah- in just a few more days, you will have your chance to catch Celebi and other Pokemon from the Johto region, and as any Pokemon fan in the world would tell you, that’s incredible news. It’s definitely exciting times for Pokemon GO players. The game’s going to receive PvP by the end of this year, while recently it was also teasing the addition of Gen 4 Pokemon. It’s certainly been generating plenty of excitement recently- perhaps that’s why it recently topped the US iOS App Store charts once again.
