At long last, we have received the promised, very first proper trailer for the much anticipated Life is Strange 2, Dontnod’s follow up to their beloved 2015 adventure game. Life is Strange 2 follows two completely new characters- Sean and Daniel Diaz, two Latino brothers (which is awesome, we don’t get too many good Latino characters in games) who are on the run. A fateful encounter in Seattle threatens the two brothers with incarceration and separation, and they decide to flee to their home town in Mexico.

The game will follow their journey across the West Coast, with players controlling Sean (the older of the two brothers), as they try to get to the southern border of the United States. It will see a new cast of characters they encounter along the way. There is also a new power in the game (so fans of the supernatural stuff from the first game don’t need to worry about that being missing in this one), but Dontnod is being particularly coy about what that might be.

That apart, the game ties into the incredible The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit, which was released as a free bridge game back during E3, features “the highest production values” for a Life is Strange game yet, and will also have a brand new soundtrack. It sounds like it will be really great- you can check out the first proper trailer for it for yourself below.

Life is Strange 2‘s very first episode launches on September 27, 2018 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
