Chucklefish is best known as the publisher behind Stardew Valley, but it has other titles like Spellbound and Wargroove in development as well. The latter is especially interesting because it looks to marry the concepts behind Advance Wars and Fire Emblem into one turn-based extravaganza.

That being said, it was announced last year and hasn’t seen a release date yet. What’s the hold up? Chucklefish CEO Finn Brice provided an update on Twitter and said that wanting to provide a “complete and robust ‘package'” with pretty much everything perfect has been the reason for their radio silence.

“For everyone following Wargroove. It’s coming along at a really good pace, the reason it’s been taking longer than expected is because we decided we wanted a very complete and robust ‘package’ as well as wanting to perfect everything that was there. Thanks for being patient,” said Brice. He then proceeded to list all the things that players could look forward to.

Wargroove offers 12 different Commanders, each possessing their own campaign and character. Along with this, players can craft their own maps and edit the overworld, allowing certain missions to link together and create a branching narrative as a result. That’s on top of local and online co-op and PvP.

The game is still slated for a late 2018 launchm and will arrive for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. What are your thoughts on the game? Let us know below.
