Destiny 2’s Iron Banner Bounties Will Change, Grant Powerful Gear

Bungie is making bounties less time-consuming for newer players of the PvP activity.

Destiny 2 Iron Banner

Bungie’s Destiny 2: Forsaken is almost a month old at this point, but the debate on progression and the pace of attaining that high “Power level” continues. While the developer has outlined changes coming to Masterwork Core and Exotic drop rates, it also sought to clarify a few changes coming to Iron Banner.

Iron Banner was often considered as PvP with Power level advantages enabled. Destiny 2 did away with that at launch, but returned to it around the time of Forsaken’s release. However, for an activity that’s as accessible by newer players as it is veterans, the completion rate for bounties came across as somewhat strong (especially when new players were at a disadvantage, Power-wise).

To address this, senior designer Jeremiah Pieschl confirmed in the recent weekly update that bounty requirements would be changing. Said changes are outlined below.

  • Lightbearer: Super kills has been reduced to 20 from 25
  • Iron in the Blood: Match completions has been reduced to 15 from 30
  • Shine On: Orbs generated has been reduced to 50 from 100
  • Iron Victory: Match wins has been reduced to 7 from 10
  • To Be Precise: Precision kills has been reduced to 50 from 100
  • All in a Week’s Work: Kills has been reduced to 150 from 250

Furthermore, all bounties will offer Powerful Gear. So Iron Banner’s reputation for being an alternative source to the raid and Nightfall for higher level gear will be returning. These changes will affect the next Iron Banner though, so stay tuned for more information on when that goes live.
