Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is a huge open world RPG, and its made by Ubisoft to boot, so its bound to have at least some technical issues here and there. Ubisoft recently gave out details on some such issues that will be fixed with the day one patch, but pretty soon after that, they’ll also be releasing title update 1.0.3, which will also fix a number of issues.

Plenty of these are common across all three systems, while a few will be specific to each of them. A few of the issues Ubisoft has mentioned pertain to very specific instances, actions, or locations in the game, so obviously they’re a bit spoiler-y. As such, they’re not mentioned here in this post, but in case you want to read more about them in greater detail, spoilers and all, you can head on over here.

Some issues across all three systems include instances of texture pop ins or them taking too long to load while using Ikaros (the eagle you control in the game) in a specific part of the world; instances of when legendary gear on enemies you’ve downed might disappear if you stray too far away from them before confirming your kill; or a particular achievement not being unlocked (again, not giving details here because it might be spoiler-y, but click through the link provided above if you want to know either way).

One issue that is specific to the game’s PS4 version is the right and left direction buttons on the d-pad seem to have no function at certain times. Meanwhile, on the PC, the VRAM at times fails to update in real-time after changing graphics options. These, and some other system specific issues, are going to be fixed with update 1.0.3 as well.

Additionally, Ubisoft has also talked a bit about plenty of issues that are known to them and are currently under investigation, but won’t be fixed with the next patch (soon, though). These include FPS drops when fighting enemies at nighttime, low resolution textures for characters riding on horses, temporary freezes in the middle of gameplay, and more.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is already playable to those who pre-ordered one of the game’s special editions, but its full global launch is scheduled for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on October 5- just a couple days more. In the meantime, you can read our review here.
