Fallout 76 – More Stress Tests Incoming, Fast Travel Details, and Cross-Play Possibilities

No cross-progression at launch, but Bethesda might look into it eventually.

Fallout 76

Bethesda recently held a stress test for Fallout 76, which you may have been a part of if you pre-ordered the game and are part of the Xbox Insiders program. That stress test is now over, but as per the official Fallout twitter page, there’s more coming up soon, for which details will be provided at a later date.

Beyond that, there’s some other info on the upcoming RPG to dig into as well, thanks to Bethesda’s Pete Hines taking the time to respond to fans’ queries on Twitter. The most notable piece of info’s related to cross-platform play. Hines stated not too long ago that cross-play is not part of the plan for Fallout 76 right now, but might be added in eventually, and his latest statements are in line with that  as well.

When asked whether Fallout 76 would support cross-platform progression (allowing players to carry over their saves across systems), Hines said that that would not be the case. In a separate tweet, however, he re-iterartd that Bethesda would probably look into cross-progression and cross-platform play following the game’s launch.

Additionally, he also gave some details on how fast travel will work in Fallout 76 with respect to PvP. If you’re not engaged in a fight with another player – even if you’re being attacked by someone that you aren’t engaging – you will be allowed to fast travel. However, if you fire back, that means you’re engaging in PvP, at which point the game won’t let you fast travel anymore- which makes sense, because as the old saying goes, “you can’t fast travel when there are enemies nearby”.

Fallout 76 launches on November 14 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Recently, we got over two hours of gameplay footage from the game- check it out through here.
