In the hands of a skilled player, this game looks fantastic.

FromSoftware is doing something a bit different with their upcoming Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. While the action game set in an alternate take of Sengoku-era Japan still looks to be nails tough, it also will be stepping away from the RPG style gameplay that the company has become synonymous with thanks to their success with the Dark Souls games.

We’ve actually had a chance to see this game in action a bit over the last few months, and now, we got another look at it thanks to FromSoftware bringing it with them to a Dengeki livestream. The version shown off was running on the PS4 (since really, that’s the only version that matters in Japan).

The footage in question is FromSoftware’s Communication Manager Yasuhiro Kitao playing the game, and playing it well. He’s actually super good at it, and it gives us an idea of just how well the game can play in the hands of a skilled player. We get to see combat (especially against shielded enemies and ranged enemies), and we get to see the range of movements the player has. In a lot of ways, it will remind players of Bloodborne, where there is a deliberate nuance to the gameplay, and yet there is also a pace and speed to it that makes it incredibly satisfying to see.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice launches for Xbox One, PS4, and PC on March 22.
