Fallout 76’s PC Framerates Have Been Uncapped

You can now go over 60 FPS if your system permits it.

Fallout 76

During its beta phase, Fallout 76 PC players discovered that the game’s physics were tied to its frame rates, which meant that you could essentially move faster if you were looking at things that weren’t too visually taxing and could thus be rendered at higher frame rate counts. This, bizarrely enough, led to players running around while looking at the ground to move faster.

Bethesda soon capped the frame rate of the game on PC to a maximum of 60 FPS to avoid this issue, which, as you can imagine, didn’t sit well with many people, who felt it was a very temporary solution for a ridiculous problem. However, as part of the massive update that was released for Fallout 76 yesterday, it seems the frame rate on PC was uncapped (as reported by DSO Gaming), which means that physics are no longer tied to frame rates, and you can now go over 60 FPS if your system can handle it.

Fallout 76 is currently out on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. To get more info on the game and find out what we thought of it, make sure to read our review.
