Bloodstained Ritual of the Night

Amid some delays for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, a spiritual successor to classic Castlevania games, creator Koji Igarashi has announced that WayForward Technologies would be joining development. The developer is known for its work on the Shantae series and The Mummy Demastered. It will help ArtPlay and DICO help realize Igarashi’s “vision for this game”.

Igarashi praised WayForward in his latest Kickstarter update, noting, “They are top-tier when it comes to side-scrolling action games. There is even a staff member who previously worked on one of my projects, which is incredibly encouraging.” He later added, “Maybe I am even more excited than everyone else – with their help Bloodstained will become an even better game.”

Currently, the development team is working to polish Bloodstained, quashing any existing bugs. One bug has been causing a crash, and requires fixing above all. Though a release date still hasn’t been announced, 505 Games’ senior community manager Jason Ryan feels that the team is closer to completion now, thanks to WayForward joining.

GamingBolt previewed Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night several months ago. You can check out our impressions and see whether it lives up to the legacy of games such as Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Bloodstained is currently in development for Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
