Multiple Diablo Projects Will Be Revealed Over The Coming Year, Says Blizzard

Let’s just hope they actually do have something meaningful to show this time.

Diablo 4

With the announcement of Diablo: Immortal, the ensuing backlash, and the questions about exactly what is going on with the long anticipated Diablo 4, there may be many fans who have sworn off the series (for now) entirely. However, presumably in a continued attempt to placate fans, Blizzard’s Diablo team posted an update on the Battle.net forums, promising that there are multiple Diablo projects in the works, and that Blizzard plans on revealing them over the coming year.

“We continue to read feedback and our internal discussions are ongoing,” the post reads. “We have many plans for Diablo across multiple projects which we’ll be revealing over the course of the coming year. We are eager to share more about all of our projects, but some will have to wait as we prefer to show you, rather than tell you, about them. It’s going to take some time as we strive to meet your expectations, but now, more than ever, we are committed to delivering Diablo experiences the community can be proud of.”

Of course, the post very carefully tiptoes around explicitly referencing Diablo 4, and honestly is not all that different from the kinds of statements they made regarding the Diablo franchise earlier this year. Still, one has to hope that the sheer backlash surrounding Immortal, if nothing else, will have shown them they need to be better at managing expectations, if nothing else.

Although, that last line about some projects not being announced until they are ready to be shown is ominous for sure. I wonder when exactly Diablo 4 may be shown off at all.
