Fallout 76

Bethesda’s bad luck with Fallout 76 seems never-ending at this point. After a disappointing launch mired with numerous bugs and performance issues, criticism over the lack of communication, and complaints about the Power Armor Edition’s West Tek bag, it seemed the developer might be due for gaining some goodwill back. This could be seen in its effort to replace the nylon bags included with the Power Armor Edition with actual canvas bags, as originally advertised.

Unfortunately, it seems the company can’t catch a break. A Reddit user recently revealed that they could access Bethesda’s support system. Tickets pertaining to refunds, bugs, replacement forms for canvas bags, etc. were all accessible with the ability to open and close them. Not only that, but personal information like addresses, phone numbers, and much more could also be accessed.

A user on the Bethesda forums also confirmed their ability to access the support system. “I went on the support website today, to update a ticket of mine, and surprisingly (or not…) I ended up being able to see all sorts of tickets, with people putting their personal information in them, like receipt screenshots, names, addresses and so on,” they wrote. “I’m assuming this is a bug in the website, because I don’t see for what reason Bethesda would make tickets public.”

In response to this, Bethesda community manager LadyDevann simply said, “Hi guys, we’ve resolved this issue.” What caused it in the first place? How widespread was the damage of details like credit card numbers being leaked? We may not know until much later down the line.

But hey, at least Bethesda will have live events for Fallout 76 starting in early 2019. So there is that.
