Death Stranding Might Be “A Transformative Online Experience”

Hideo Kojima might be gearing up to try something completely different with Death Stranding's online elements.

We’re tired of saying it, but it’s very true- we know very little about Death Stranding. And that goes for almost every aspect of the game, which includes its online elements as well. While previously Hideo Kojima has teased us with sparse hints about what its online features could be like, we know very little other than a) they will exist, and b) they will be different from what you usually see in most games.

We now have a few more sparse details to tell us basically nothing specific about the game’s online, but still give us hints as to its nature. Recently, Hideo Kojima was in New York City, where among the many people he met up with was F. Paul Wilson, known and celebrated science fiction and horror author. Wilson put up an update on his official Twitter (which you can see below), where he mentioned that in his meeting with Kojima, the two discussed the upcoming Death Stranding, before, interestingly enough, going on to state that he thinks the game is going to be “a transformative online experience”.

So yeah, that’s not much to go on, but it is interesting nonetheless. What sort of online functionalities the game will entail is something that has been a question for a long time, and it should be interesting to see what it actually ends up being (whenever Sony and Kojima deem it appropriate to announce details on it, that is).

Recently, we heard more vague yet superlative descriptions of how Death Stranding is shaping up by a fresh Kojima Productions employee. Meanwhile, Norman Reedus, who plays the protagonist in the game, has said that the game might end up releasing early next year- unlikely, but interesting nonetheless. Read more on that through here.
