Death Stranding

Death Stranding is, without the shadow of a doubt, one of the most highly anticipated upcoming PS4 releases, but for all the excitement, we know very little about the game- including when exactly it will launch. While there are many who believe that we may not see the game till 2020, a new video recently uploaded by Sony might be hinting that the Hideo Kojima title is closer than we think.

The video in question is a montage of several “coming attractions” for the PS4, which shows clips of a bevy of upcoming games, both first party and third party. The video doesn’t specifically mention that every game shown off is slated for a 2019 launch, but it’s interesting to note that other than Death Strandingi, Ghost of Tsushima, and The Last of Us Part 2, every single one of all the other games shown are confirmed to be releasing in 2019. These games include, but are not limited to, the likes of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Devil May Cry 5, Resident Evil 2, Kingdom Hearts 3, Rage 2, Days Gone, the MediEvil remakeControl, Anthem, and many, many more.

As I mentioned earlier, the one thing all these games have in common is that we know for a fact that they’re launching in 2019. Dreams, too, is shown off, and though Sony hasn’t announced a concrete 2019 release for that, given its upcoming public beta, it’s very likely that it launches this year. Sure, the inclusion of games like The Last of Us Part 2 and Ghost of Tsushima – which are by no means guaranteed to launch this year – does indicate that not all the games shown off have to release this year, it is worth noting that both Norman Reedus and Hideo Kojima himself have recently suggested/hinted that Death Stranding might end up launching in 2019.
