Nintendo showed off the long in the making (seriously, I say this every time, but it was the first game announced for the Nintendo Switch, back when it was still called the NX) Switch version of Dragon Quest 11 today. The Switch version of the game, which will rightly get the “Definitive Edition” billing in the west, will include the 2D overview map from the 3DS version (the full game will be playable in this view) as well as the full 3D view from the PS4 and PC versions.

It will also be the first version of the game to launch with the orchestral soundtrack included, including new content and features, such as personal stories for each of the characters, and allowing players to play with either the English or the Japanese voice tracks, and more. Nintendo promised more of a look at everything that Dragon Quest 11 S: Echoes of an Elusive Age: Definitive Edition has to offer to newcomers and veterans alike at a later date.

Most importantly, we now also have a release window for the game—it’s launching this Fall in the west.
