Take-Two CEO Says They’re Excited For Stadia And Will Support It

It seems one company isn’t too down on the idea.

The general feeling around Google Stadia since its reveal has been a mix of things, as it is to any type of new technological leap (or attempt at a leap, at the very least). It’s been a mix of skepticism, caution, and apparently in the case of publisher Take-Two Interactive, what seems to be a little bit of excitement.

We reported earlier about the earnings call for the company, where they detailed the massive successes Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 have been, and the company’s view on loot box practices. In addition, CEO Strauss Zelnick also spoke about Google’s streaming service, and he seems pretty into the whole idea behind Stadia. He confirmed that the company would support it, and that he found the idea of being able to stream and log in from any device an exciting prospect.

He said: “You know the promise of being able to sign on to a service with virtually no barriers, without a box in between, and being able to play our games on any device whatsoever around the world, and to do it with low latency, well that’s very compelling if that can be delivered, and the folks at Google minimally have said it will be delivered and will be delivered in relatively short order.”

“Conceptually we want to be where the consumer is, and we’ll support new entrants and we are a believer in streaming services,” he added. “Again, you know we need to have business models that make sense for us. So far, we’re pretty optimistic.”

While no games were specified during the call to be coming to Stadia, it definitely seems like it’s something the company is looking into.
