A Plague Tale: Innocence Developers Have No Plans For Sequels or DLC

As far as Asobo Studio is concerned, A Plague Tale: Innocence is "a one-and-done narrative experience".

A Plague Tale: Innocence represents the kind of gaming experiences that have become rarer and rarer with current industry trends- a AA, linear, narrative-focused single player title that isn’t concerned with things such as having an open world or multiplayer options. For this reason, and many more, it’s a game that’s been on the radars of many, and with the game now out, it turns out that’s been for good reason- it’s an excellent, memorable adventure indeed.

But is it the kind of story and setting that developers Asobo Studio will be looking to potentially return to in the future. Are sequels on the cards? If not, will we at least be getting some DLC in the future to spend a bit more time in A Plague Tale’s grim recreation of 14th century France? As it turns out, that’s unlikely.

Speaking in an interview with Star News, the game’s narrative designer Sebastien Renard said that the developers look at A Plague Tale as “a one-and-done narrative experience”.

“It is a one-and-done narrative experience,” he said. “We’re all so happy to have come up with a game we can love so much… It’s been a crazy roller-coaster and the whole team is now of course very excited/nervous as we’re a day away from the release. Everybody’s spending a lot of time online checking the first feedbacks. It’s also time for vacations and well deserved rest as you can imagine.”

A Plague Tale: Innocence is out now for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
