Capcom has updated its million sellers list, which means that sales figures for a number of its more recent high profile releases have also been updated. For starters, Resident Evil 2, which had shipped 4 million units as of the end of last year, now stands at 4.2 million shipments worldwide. This means it’s that much closer to going level with the sales for the original Resident Evil 2, which stands at 4.96 million units.

Meanwhile, Devil May Cry 5, which had shipped 2 million units at last count (which was in March), now sits at 2.1 million units shipped worldwide. Then there’s Monster Hunter World, Capcom’s most successful release ever, which has moved up to 12.4 million shipments, up from 12 million.

Each of these three has been an excellent success story for Capcom, with Resident Evil 2 being an incredible modernization of a classic, Devil May Cry 5 being a successful revival of a fan-favourite series, and Monster Hunter World representing an exciting step forward for the franchise- so it’s good to see all three of them doing so well.

There’s more content to come on the Monster Hunter World front as well, with the Iceborne expansion coming to PS4 and Xbox One in September (and to PC in Winter). According to Capcom, the expansion is going to have as much content as the base game itself.

Meanwhile, Capcom is also working on several unannounced titles (some of which are next gen) using the RE Engine, which was also used for Resident Evil 2 and Devil May Cry 5. Read more about that through here.
