The Division 2 – Dark Hours Raid Difficulty Currently Not Planned to Change

Though its aware of the difficulty on consoles, Massive is "happy" with the raid's current state.

The Division 2 received its first major raid this month with Operation Dark Hours, an eight person activity that requires more coordination and communication than you’d normally expect. The lack of matchmaking is already a hurdle, but many players, especially those on consoles, have also taken issue with the overall difficulty. That sadly won’t be changing any time soon.

Community developer Chris Gansler noted on the recent State of the Game stream, “We’ve heard rumours about us changing the raid difficulty… there are currently no plans to change that. We know the raid is harder on consoles, but we are happy with where we’re at.” More than 7,000 PC players have cleared the raid, while less than 200 have cleared it on consoles. Whether Massive sticks to its guns or not in the long run, even in light of such numbers, remains to be seen.

The Division 2’s Operation Dark Hours raid does offer some interesting rewards. On top of an Exotic weapon, players can also earn different Gear Sets as drops. What could other raids and post-launch content have in store for the looter shooter, especially with competitors like Borderlands 3 out in September? Time will certainly tell- but we do know that a new Specialization is coming soon, so there’s something to look forward to for sure.
