Final Fantasy VIII

When it comes to the Final Fantasy franchise, obviously a lot of the eyes are on the remake of Final Fantasy 7. We have a release date for the first part of the release finally, after a long run since its initial reveal. But another PlayStation release from the series could be getting its due, if insider sources are to be believed.

An insider by the name of Sabi has been leaking contents from this year’s E3. They leaked almost the entirety of Microsoft and Bethesda’s conference yesterday, which included specific details on Halo Infinite‘s launch and even the two brand new IPs from Bethesda. As far as Square Enix, they say that Final Fantasy 8 is getting a remaster that will be at E3, most likely at Square Enix’s conference, which will happen later today.

Final Fantasy 8 is part of the trio of mainline games in the franchise that came out on the original PlayStation that helped launch the series into huge mainstream popularity. While the other two (7 and 9) have both been available on modern platforms for a while, 8 has been strangely absent. It may be time for it to finally return. Stay tuned.
