Ghost Recon Breakpoint (7)

Ghost Recon Breakpoint is Ubisoft’s major holiday title this year, and it looks to shake up the formula a little bit. Taking place after the wildly successful Wildlands, Breakpoint will be see the Ghosts up against odds they’ve never had to face: those in their own ranks who’ve broken bad. While a lot of what we’ve seen is familiar, there’s enough there to say Breakpoint does veer in a fairly different direction. Creative Director Eric Couzian also talked about the different missions and ways in which players will find to tackle them.

In an interview with Twinfinite, Couzian was asked about the mission variety and what the team was doing to differente them. He pointed to the unscripted nature of the game, saying that it’s tailored to allowing players many different options to complete missions, giving them a good deal of variety.

“The first thing is that nothing is scripted,” he said. “Usually what I say is that a camp or a situation is a problem that players have to solve, but we don’t know how they will do it. So it brings a lot of variety which also depends on your personal playstyle.

“At the same time you’ll have different tracks or storylines which brings a lot of variety in the types of missions you can make, and a lot of mysteries in terms of narrative which you will find out.

“In terms of gameplay, depending on your tastes you can play this storyline or these types of missions or the others, which will be very different.”

Ghost Recon Breakpoint is out October 4th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. In the meantime, you can get an extended look at the game’s setting.
