Halo Infinite – E3 2020 Will Be A “Big Moment” For The Game

Microsoft are holding off until next year to reveal the future of Halo in full.

2019 turned out to be a muted year for E3 (barring Nintendo), and Microsoft’s press event exemplified that perfectly. A lack of gameplay footage being shown off for their titles was one of their biggest issues this year- and Halo Infinite was one of the many games to suffer from that problem.

Though we did get to see an excellent in-engine cinematic trailer that set the stage for Master Chief’s next outing, gameplay footage and a proper reveal for the game is something we’re going to have to wait a while for- more specifically, we won’t be seeing it till E3 2020. In an update on Halo Waypoint, 343 Industries studio director Chris Lee spoke about the game’s showing at E3 2019, and about what we can expect to see from it in the coming months.

“Bringing a game to life is incredibly challenging and moments like this, sharing our vision, mean so much to us,” Lee wrote. “I know that many of you will want to see and know more about Halo Infinite and I am excited to share more of our experience with you in the future. As I said last year, we’d love to hear what you think, and we still intend to support an early flighting program that will give you a way to play the game and provide feedback that will directly impact decisions we make for launch and into the future. We aren’t ready to kick this off yet, but you will certainly hear about it when we’re ready to welcome you to the program!”

Lee elaborated on that statement, saying that E3 2019 is going to be a “big moment” for Halo Infinite.

“As for what’s next, E3 2020 will be a big moment for Halo Infinite,” he wrote. “Until we reach that destination in 2020, we’ll continue to embrace the mystery and wonder of Halo and the endless opportunity and potential of this engine, this hardware and, most of all, this team.”

Halo Infinite is due out in Holiday 2020 for the Xbox One, Xbox Scarlett, and PC. Microsoft recently confirmed that it will include split-screen co-op play.
