It’s taken a while, but it seems Bungie is finally making Eververse armour in Destiny 2 apply to all Legendary armour as “Universal Ornaments”, rather than being separate pieces. This change will take place with the launch of Shadowkeep and will apply to both existing and future Legendary armour sets. Furthermore, the in-game Eververse currency Bright Dust will be earnable from Crucible, Vanguard, and Gambit bounties going forward.

As Bungie stated in its own news post, “Any Eververse Armor you have acquired in your Collections will have its Universal Ornaments automatically unlocked for use on new Legendary armor. For example, if the song in your heart is to have your Titan roll with the 2018 Tin Man-esque Festival of the Lost Helmet, you can put it on any of the new Legendary armor coming to the game this fall.”

As for Bright Dust, players will no longer have to dismantle Eververse items to acquire it. “We want all players to earn Dust for playing, not for spending money and destroying a bunch of items in their inventory. After you complete all your bounties for the week, there will be an additional avenue to keep grinding out Bright Dust.” Eververse items will break down into Legendary Shards and Glimmer as well.

Finally, pulling Eververse items from the Collection will cost Legendary Shards and Glimmer instead of Bright Dust. Of course, that’s all on September 17th when Shadowkeep goes live. For now, you can play the game, earn Bright Engrams, and dismantle all the Eververse items you don’t want for Bright Dust to spend later.

Destiny 2: Shadowkeep will be coming to Xbox One, PS4, PC, and Google Stadia. It will also be going free to play as Destiny 2: New Light and heading to Steam. Though it will have cross-saves on all platforms, cross-play – even between PC and Google Stadia – will not be supported.
