Gears 5

After introducing the revamped Escalation mode and Training Grounds map, The Coalition had some fairly extensive gameplay for Gears 5’s Versus mode this weekend. It debuted at the ELEAGUE Summer Series Invitational so professional esports players were in the hot seat. That being said, many aspects of the series – from quickly taking cover to spamming shotguns – are still prevalent. Take a look through the link.

Fans won’t have to wait long to get their hands on Versus mode. There will be a tech test from July 19th to 22nd and another on July 26th to 29th. It will have two maps and three modes, including Escalation, Arcade, and King of the Hill. Bootcamp for training and a small Tour of Duty will also be active.

To participate in the tech test, you’ll need to either pre-order the game digitally or subscribe to Xbox Game Pass on PC (check out the system requirements here) or Xbox One. Gears 5 will be receiving more details in August for Horde mode, while campaign footage will arrive in September. The game itself releases on September 10th, but Ultimate Edition pre-orders and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can play it on September 6th.
